In 2010 a fellow by the name of William Tapley made a name for himself with his eccentric tune, “Doom and Gloom.” Tapley calls himself the “Third Eagle of the Apocalypse” and “Co-Prophet of the End Times.” In his video he seemed happy about the doom and gloom he believed was soon to come:
Fortunately, “Third Eagle” is way off base when it comes to this world’s destiny. See Isaiah 60, for example, to realize just how opposite Isaiah’s outlook was concerning the new covenant age we live in. There is no end to the increase of Jesus’ government and peace (Isaiah 9:7).
In my last post, Calamitous Famines Have Disappeared (Implications for Eschatology), we saw that the number of deaths from famine have greatly declined over the last several decades. This world is far from perfect, and there are plenty of mountains to be conquered, but the decline of great famines is only one of many ways that the world is getting better. The great tribulation is way behind us, not ahead of us, the book of Revelation has been fulfilled, and “the end times” of the old covenant age have given way to this glorious new covenant age.
This post is the first of a 3-part series showing various ways that this world is improving. The following information was made public by Joshua Greeson at his Facebook (Author) page during the week of April 4-8, 2016. Good morning! Welcome to “The World is Getting Better Week” here on the page. I know that most American Christians would disagree with the statement, “the world is getting better.” However, that won’t stop me from proclaiming what I believe to be true.
They could quote some Scriptures that they interpret and apply one way, and I could do the same. We can all quote Scriptures to corroborate our beliefs. I’ll share just a few of those Scriptures in very brief form during the week. But the bottom line is that the Kingdom of God (wherever God’s will is being done) is always GROWING, INCREASING and ADVANCING. Soon, it will have affected EVERYTHING in the world.
It might seem on the surface that the world is getting worse. Why? Our view is generally based on limited INFORMATION, limited LOCATION and limited TIMESPAN. But if we’re not judging from our own subjective experience–but are actually examining facts and statistics—we see quite a different picture! If you like statistics, graphs and charts, you’re going to love this week. If you don’t—you might have a change of heart before this week is out!
This week we’ll be looking at a few charts and facts that demonstrate some of the effects of Kingdom “leaven” on the “lump” we call planet earth. Prepare to be challenged some—or perhaps pleasantly surprised—and to have a more optimistic outlook on the future! Blessings! #theworldisgettingbetter

Pursuing Truth 
Thanks for a bit of sunshine in an otherwise gloomy world. As this blog post points out, Christianity is growing strongly in areas that receive little publicity from our western secular media.
And it survives in oppressed areas where Christians are openly persecuted as well.
God still is doing mighty works of salvation in this creation and will continue until whenever He chooses and not before. In that alone we have reason to rejoice.

Hi,
Do you happen to believe there will ever by a global event wherein the 1)world collapses like the sun exploding? Wherein we receive a 2)new heaven or new earth? Has 2)this already happened? If 1 happens, does that make Isaiah a liar? I am not sure about what would be the proper logical ridiculous question.
Most people I know are premillenial dispensationalists or skeptics. (Sorry to ask you, there are few else to ask).

I do not presume to speak for others, including Adam who administers this blog, but I believe the Bible, and in 2 Peter Chapter 3, verse 10 (read the whole chapter for the context) it clearly states:
” But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.”
I do therefore believe that there will yet be a wrap-up day of Judgment at some point in which this creation will be destroyed (the entire universe) and that it will be replaced by a new heavens and a new earth in which dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter Chapter 3, verse 13.
This has not happened yet by any means!
Isaiah is a great prophet of God and hence cannot ever be a liar when prophetically speaking…but the words of the Bible can easily be misinterpreted by imperfect humans.

I’m glad to hear you love this blog. No, I don’t believe that this world will collapse one day. By the way, why would that make Isaiah a liar? Is it because of the passage I referred to in this post (Isaiah 9:7)? I’m just wondering what you’re referring to specifically.
I believe that God has already created a new heaven and a new earth, and we are living in that reality right now. It’s the age and the world of the new covenant. Here’s a post I wrote on this subject, and here’s a short outline of what’s in it:
Here are a number of passages which state that this world will last forever:
“And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He has established forever” (Psalm 78:69).
“…Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved” (Psalm 93:1, 96:10).
“You who laid the foundations of the earth, so that it should not be moved forever…” (Psalm 104:5).
“Praise Him, you heavens of heavens, and you waters above the heavens! Let them praise the name of the Lord, for He commanded and they were created. He has also established them forever and ever; He has made a decree which shall not pass away” (Psalm 148:4-6).
“One generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the earth abides forever” (Ecclesiastes 1:4).
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Ephesians 3:21).

I said that because of the Isaiah quote in your post. Yet, I am not a strong inerrantist. I don’t know if Isaiah (or Paul, Moses or Peter) is really a problem. I tend to side, like Berean (above) said, with they were not lying when prophetically speaking. Somewhat like the “ex cathedra” idea of the Pope. Of course, my thought is not complete yet, so I won’t go any further. FYI: I am Evangelical, not Catholic.

I jumped ahead and watched the video before reading the post and at first I thought the song was a parody or something. There are a lot of nut jobs out there. How can people be happy about doom, gloom and destruction? Love how he extols his listener to stay in grace by not sinning. ((Shakes head!)) So much for that verse in Romans 5 about grace abounding where sin abounds. I guess that is only for unbelievers. We Christians better behave. Thanks for your post on how the world is getting better! I especially liked the way you pulled back on time period or location to give a fuller perspective that is often missed in looking at statistics. Good news indeed!

Hey Brother, love your work and studies. It has changed my life! I was wondering, when were you going to finish the revelation commentary in light of the fact that the beast was Zealot led Israel? I noticed you stopped at ch. 13. Are you going to finish 13-20? Also, what was the mark of the beast?

Hey Clarence. Thanks for dropping by and for your interest in the beast series. Also I appreciate your kind and encouraging words in your previous comment (which, for some reason, I didn’t see until just now). Yes, I do plan to resume and finish this series. Hopefully it won’t be long. I have a bunch of notes regarding the mark of the beast and I look forward to receiving feedback once I post on that topic.
